This blog: A forum for the voices in my head
I beg to differ. If bloggers mark both their liniing and commentary as means of self-expression, as ways to foster a unique voice, a definite attitude and motivation, then the reality of the blog is anchored in the personality of the blogger, Twyla I'm beginning to understand you more and more, through your posts. People usually fit into the category of Mediated voyeurism and exhibitionism, and try to find self clarification or validation through blogging, facebook, myspace. I'm apparently on here only for self promotion. Meaning, my reason to come on this blog was to see how everyone was doing and tell you that our cd is available for purchase, and my band's songs are up on the myspace site. We will also be playing with the Cave Singers again soon for my birthday(rematch Angela). I'm not usually so self promoting- only with people I like, because my growing pessimism, due to people's internet usage and a book I'm reading "The Young and the Digital" is making me think that people are getting really fucking boring to talk to in real life(no not second life, real life). Now I'm not making sense, my brain hurts from being at school all day and I'm scared to death I might become a teacher who incorporates Fan Fiction into learning and reading about books. By the way, obviously it's no news that j.d Salinger died, the first thing I thought about was that Joyce Maynard book "At home in the World", she had an affair with Salinger when she was 18, and he was almost sixty I believe. Well it's a quick and fascinating read into the life of a hermit and as the culture of self disclosure begins to spread, it would be interesting to see the work of someone who wrote, for the sake of writing and not exhibitionism. Yet I would argue that no one writes for writing itself, but whether imaginary, reality, or dilusional, they have the audience in their head and always assumse that private writing would go public, sometime hopefully after death. I need a nap.
